Undergraduate Education: South Georgia College, Georgia Southern University, B.S. Biology; Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University; Professional Achievements and Associations: Have been seeing patients with MyEyeDr. since graduating optometry school in 2014, GOA and AOA member; Clinical Certifications and Specialities: Primary Care, Contact lenses; The reason I became an optometrist is because I was initially exposed to the profession at a young age because of my own farsightedness and astigmatism, and seeing the wonders a pair of glasses or contacts can do for children and adults for overall quality of life and our ability to help people through early diagnosis and treatment. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family. We have three girls and one boy and a new puppy so never a dull moment. I play tennis when I get time. My favorite part of helping my patients is being able to make a difference and solve whatever eye problem they are having whether it be blurry vision or an infection or anything that I can help with clinically. It is also nice when you can make that personal connection as well.

Dr. Alberto Camacho grew up in nearby Vernon, Texas. He graduated with honors from Vernon High School. After graduation, Dr. Camacho was accepted to the University of New Mexico with a full academic scholarship. His passion for giving back to his community was deeply ingrained as a brother of Lambda Theta Phi, Latino Fraternity. Dr. Camacho graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then went on to pursue his Doctor of Optometry from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO) in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Camacho’s clinical experience began immediately at UIWRSO, but his passion for Vision Therapy and the Pediatric population began while providing vision screenings at the San Antonio and Bourne Elementary Schools during his second year at UIWRSO. This passion for Developmental Optometry was further engrained while receiving further training in the Vision Therapy specialty clinic within UIWRSO. Dr. Camacho further expanded his skills in Vision Therapy during his externship in an Optometry office offering Vision Therapy. Aside from the Vision Therapy training, Dr. Camacho was fortunate to also work with the San Antonio Veterans Administration Eye Clinic and provide eye care for our nation’s veterans. Dr. Camacho is a member of the South Plains Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Camacho specializes in Therapeutic Optometry (which includes treatment for dry eye, eye infections and foreign body removal), Specialty Contact Lenses (including Multi-focal, Rigid Gas Permeable, Keratoconus, and Corneal Refractive Therapy contact lenses), Family Vision, Laser Vision Evaluations with the Laser Eye Center of Lubbock, and Vision Therapy. His hobbies include travelling, spending time with family and friends, attending Texas Tech sporting events, and watching soccer, including his favorite team, Club America. Dr Camacho is fluent in Spanish and is ready to provide eye care for his patients.

Undergraduate Education: Seton Hill University. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I provide comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, do contact lens fittings, and manage ocular disease. I previously worked at Naval Station Norfolk conducting eye exams and vision screenings for active-duty service members. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with my husband and three daughters.

By providing comprehensive eye examinations and providing solutions that best suite my patients needs whether it be glasses, contacts, or treatment of eye disease. Hobbies/Interests: watching old movies, playing board games with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy: being outdoors in nature, biking and hiking, and traveling to new places.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I have worn glasses since the fourth grade and every time I visited the eye doctor, I left seeing better than when I came in. Sometimes I did not even realize that vision needed improvement. The entire experience in all those years was always very positive. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Treating them like family and educating them that your eye health is just as important as how you see with your corrective lenses. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with family, watching sports-Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State.

Undergraduate Education: B.S. in biomedical science from Auburn University. Optometry School: University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I use my experiences from completing a residency in ocular disease and working with a cornea specialist to not only provide my patients with sharp vision with a great pair of glasses or contact lenses, but also to manage their ocular health and treat many ocular diseases. Hobbies/Interests: Spending time with my wife and chocolate lab, sports, music, and travelling.

By providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, specialty contact lens fitting, treatment of dry eye, glaucoma, ocular injuries, and ocular disease management. The reason I became an optometrist is: I always loved the combination primary health care, optics and helping people, which is what optometry is. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Working with the patients to figure out their specific visual and eye health needs to find the best solutions for them, not only on their first visit but also year after year. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family, Playing sports, Going to the beach.

I suppose this correlation with the visual system ultimately led toward my choosing optometry as a career. It truly became an art and science vocation. My favorite part of helping my patients is knowing that I have successfully met their visual and eye health needs and concerns to the best of my abilities with genuine empathy for all. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading, golf , travel and Hokie sports.

Undergraduate Education: I attended Ferris State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Vision Science, Summa Cum Laude. Optometry School: I graduated in 2015 from the Michigan College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree, Summa Cum Laude. Professional Achievements and Associations: I am a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I am licensed to practice optometry and prescribe medications in the state of Indiana. I also maintain a controlled substance regulation certificate. I enjoy practicing full scope optometry, but I have a passion for pediatrics. The reason I became an optometrist is: I believe that vision is our most important sense. Being able to preserve, protect, and enhance the way my patients see the world is an amazing experience. I was originally drawn to optometry because it is one of the few healthcare fields that really allows you to spend time with and get to know patients. Because of that extra time, I can better serve patients. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I love the connections I get to make with my patients. I have met so many wonderful and inspiring people. Every day brings new challenges and new relationships. In my spare time, I enjoy: I love to spend time with my husband, Dan, our daughter, Amelia, and our dog. Any moment I can be outside, I take full advantage. I also enjoy cooking.
