Undergraduate Education: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Optometry School: Illinois College of Optometry. Hobbies/Interests: I am a life-long Cubs fan. In my spare time I enjoy trying new restaurants in the city, travelling the world, yoga, and spending time with loved ones.

Undergraduate Education: Morgan State University. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community? Providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fittings and evaluations, binocular visual dysfunctions, and ocular disease management. Hobbies/Interests: Crafting, creative writing, reading, volunteering in my local community and spending quality time with my husband and two sons.

Undergraduate Education: University of Montevallo; B.S. in Biology with a chemistry minor. Optometry School: University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry/1998; Concurrent OD and MS (In Vision Science). Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of the American Optometric Association and Alabama Optometric Association; Past Clinical Examiner, National Board of Examiners in Optometry. The reason I became an optometrist is: I became an Optometrist because I had always wanted to be a doctor but did not know what specialty I wanted to pursue. My interest in Optometry came to fruition after I, along with seven other minority students from various colleges and universities across the state, were chosen to be a part an inaugural eight-week summer program through the University of Alabama School of Medicine. This program termed The Sophomore Enrichment Program took place during the summer of my sophomore year of undergraduate studies and introduced me to Optometry and many other health-related professions. However, the field of Optometry piqued my interest the most. I loved the idea of being able to help people to see well and to have healthy eyes, but also to discover health-related issues through their eyes. The inaugural Junior Enrichment Program the subsequent summer, allowed me to observe in the optometry clinics at the UAB School of Optometry the entire summer, and this experience cemented my desire to pursue a career in primary eye care. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I especially love the satisfaction seen on patients’ faces when they see things for the first time in a way that they have not before, which can impact the quality of their lives. It gives me the satisfaction of knowing that the career path that I chose can be a life-changing experience for many people. I also love when they show excitement and appreciation because they have had an awesome vision and eye health experience. In my spare time, I enjoy: spending time with my husband and two children and teaching them to appreciate and to treasure the simple things in life. I also love shopping, reading, and catching up with extended family and friends.

Ron Burks OD is a board-certified optometric physician specializing in primary eye care and contact lenses. He is trained in the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular diseases and vision anomalies, managing eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Dr. Burks provides comprehensive general and urgent eye care including contact lens fittings and co-management of surgery patients. Dr. Burks is a member of the American Optometric Association, Arkansas Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa-Honor Fraternity, and Lions Club. Ron and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Brittany, Jordan, Tanner, and three grandchildren, Eli, Mary Caroline, and Connor. He enjoys biking, hunting, and all types of outdoor activities and sports.

The reason I became an optometrist is: My dad, a dedicated anesthesiologist, inspired me to seek a career in the medical field. I also had an amazing optometrist growing up in Indiana. I couldn't wait to try on every frame in his practice upon each visit. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I love that I get to take care of families in the community in which I live. I enjoy providing thorough, personalized, quality eye care. It's a pleasure getting to know my patients and their families. I look forward to seeing them return year after year. In my spare time, I enjoy: travel, theater, reading, photography, spending time with family.

Dr. Butorac holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Indiana University and attended the prestigious Indiana University School of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry, graduating top of her class with high honors. She is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Butorac is a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I have poor eyesight myself and spent a lot of time at my eye doctor's office as a kid. He helped me tremendously and I thought I could do the same for others. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Seeing patient reactions when they put glasses on for the first time. In my spare time, I enjoy: Wood Working; Watching and playing sports; Traveling; Spending time with my wife Abby and two-year-old son Declan.

The reason I became an optometrist is: The epiphany I had after receiving my first pair of glasses and seeing truly clear for the first time was life changing. I became an optometrist because I value the joy in making that feeling possible for others. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Seeing clear and comfortable is such an important part of appreciating and making the most out of life. It is a pleasure knowing that I am helping patients see their best and live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with family, hiking, biking and golf.

Undergraduate Education: Elon University. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry. Professional Achievements/Associations: I'm a part of the GOA and AOA. Clinical Certifications & Specialties: I enjoy seeing patients for comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens fittings, as well as, treating different medical eye conditions, such as, styes, corneal infections and dry eye. What drives your passion for optometry? I enjoy building strong relationships with my patents and being able to help them see their best! How are you helping patients live their best lives? I am here to provide great eyecare, prescribe the best lenses and contact lenses on the market and to always be available for any questions or concerns. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Providing great eyecare and building a strong rapport with my patients. How are you impacting your local community? I believe in giving back to the community through participating in different community service projects. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy spending time outdoors, crafting, playing with my adorable dog Callie and hanging out with friends and family.

Undergraduate Education: DeSales University B.S. Biology cum laude Professional: Pennsylvania College of Optometry O.D. with honors I have been in private practice for over 40 years in Fairless Hills providing comprehensive and medical eyecare. I have a particular interest in glaucoma, diabetic and cataract management in addition to children’s vision and contact lenses. A member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the National Glaucoma Society, I have been honored many times as one of America’s Top Optometrists. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, concerts, weekends at the beach, boating, jet skiing and walking my dog Rudy.

Undergraduate Education: University of South Florida - Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences. Optometry School: Nova Southeastern University - 2015 . Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Completed a residency in primary care/ocular disease at the Orlando VA Medical Center. The reason I became an optometrist is: to be able to help others in a medical setting while still being able to balance a happy work/home life. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Educating patient so they understand not only their eye health, but overall health as well. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my husband and one-year old son.

Biology; Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University; Professional Achievements and Associations: Have been seeing patients with MyEyeDr. since graduating optometry school in 2014, GOA and AOA member; Clinical Certifications and Specialities: Primary Care, Contact lenses; The reason I became an optometrist is because I was initially exposed to the profession at a young age because of my own farsightedness and astigmatism, and seeing the wonders a pair of glasses or contacts can do for children and adults for overall quality of life and our ability to help people through early diagnosis and treatment. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family. We have three girls and one boy and a new puppy so never a dull moment. I play tennis when I get time. My favorite part of helping my patients is being able to make a difference and solve whatever eye problem they are having whether it be blurry vision or an infection or anything that I can help with clinically. It is also nice when you can make that personal connection as well.

Dr. Alberto Camacho grew up in nearby Vernon, Texas. He graduated with honors from Vernon High School. After graduation, Dr. Camacho was accepted to the University of New Mexico with a full academic scholarship. His passion for giving back to his community was deeply ingrained as a brother of Lambda Theta Phi, Latino Fraternity. Dr. Camacho graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then went on to pursue his Doctor of Optometry from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO) in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Camacho’s clinical experience began immediately at UIWRSO, but his passion for Vision Therapy and the Pediatric population began while providing vision screenings at the San Antonio and Bourne Elementary Schools during his second year at UIWRSO. This passion for Developmental Optometry was further engrained while receiving further training in the Vision Therapy specialty clinic within UIWRSO. Dr. Camacho further expanded his skills in Vision Therapy during his externship in an Optometry office offering Vision Therapy. Aside from the Vision Therapy training, Dr. Camacho was fortunate to also work with the San Antonio Veterans Administration Eye Clinic and provide eye care for our nation’s veterans. Dr. Camacho is a member of the South Plains Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Camacho specializes in Therapeutic Optometry (which includes treatment for dry eye, eye infections and foreign body removal), Specialty Contact Lenses (including Multi-focal, Rigid Gas Permeable, Keratoconus, and Corneal Refractive Therapy contact lenses), Family Vision, Laser Vision Evaluations with the Laser Eye Center of Lubbock, and Vision Therapy. His hobbies include travelling, spending time with family and friends, attending Texas Tech sporting events, and watching soccer, including his favorite team, Club America. Dr Camacho is fluent in Spanish and is ready to provide eye care for his patients.

Undergraduate Education: Seton Hill University. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I provide comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, do contact lens fittings, and manage ocular disease. I previously worked at Naval Station Norfolk conducting eye exams and vision screenings for active-duty service members. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, hiking, and exploring the outdoors with my husband and three daughters.

Undergraduate Education: Baylor University. Optometry School: University of Houston College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By providing comprehensive eye examinations and providing solutions that best suite my patients needs whether it be glasses, contacts, or treatment of eye disease.
