Ensuring all of the patient's questions are addressed, the patient understands what was found during the eye examination, and the patient is happy with the care that they received. How are you impacting your local community? I enjoy giving back to my community and complete numerous volunteer hours each year with different organizations. Dr. James Maul earned his undergraduate Engineering degree at The Ohio State University and then continued on to The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Graduating in 1982, he attained membership in Beta Sigma Kappa, the Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Maul has taken an active role in community activities. Through membership in Lions and VOSH, he continues to help facilitate much needed vision care for the underprivileged, both in Norwalk and in Nicaragua. In addition to practicing primary eyecare, Dr. Jim has a particular interest in treating and educating patients dealing with diabetes and glaucoma. He has had two articles published in professional journals and is dedicated to bringing the latest technology and research available to his patients. Dr. Maul is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and is a past governor of the North Central Optometric Association.

It has been a pleasure to see children that I have treated since they were babies, grow up and be successful athletes, students, and parents. Hobbies/Interests: RVing, Hiking, Skiing, Spending time in the outdoors in general.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By providing comprehensive eye examinations for all ages. Making sure patients are seeing their best so they can do their best. Maximizing of visual efficiency. Emphasis is on prevention of vision worsening. Explaining my recommendations so people understand why I am proposing the treatment. Also ensuring the eyes are healthy and taking appropriate measures should they not be healthy. Hobbies/interests: Golf, DIY projects, woodworking, reading.

Dr. Brian Mays received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University. After serving specialized clinics in Low Vision and Primary Health Care in Indianapolis, Dr. Mays completed his residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta. While at Omni, Dr. Mays served as chief resident over 25 interns from optometry colleges across the nation. He is certified in therapeutic treatment of ocular infections and disease, including glaucoma. He has served on several research panels investigating new visual field testing and contact lens materials. His research on a rare form of cataract and its detection was featured at SECO. He is the recipient of Ciba Vision's Innovation in Contact Lens and Patient Care Award. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

Undergraduate Education: West Virginia University. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I enjoy taking care of patients and getting to know others in my community and I look forward to continuing to provide eyecare for them and their families. Hobbies/Interests: watching my son play lacrosse, exercising, family movie nights.

By serving patients both in the office and at local medical events. I love to teach kids about ocular health and about optometry. Dr. McClelland has practiced optometry for 15 years. From ophthalmology co-management to primary care, he provides thorough eye exams and vision solutions, offering a full range of eye care services, from eye pain and diabetic exams to eyeglasses and contact lenses. Dr. McClelland trained at the Southern College of Optometry, where he specialized in contact lens fitting. He uses the latest technology, but also considers every patient’s history and visual requirements. Dr. McClelland knows how important your vision is to your quality of life. ‘I see each patient as a person, not just another set of eyes,” he said. Raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. McClelland is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. He is grateful to be raising his children in Fort Collins. They spend their free time enjoying beautiful Colorado’s parks, mountains, rivers and lakes.

Dr. McDaniel received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in 1993. He is a therapeutic and glaucoma-certified OD to patients of all ages. As an eye doctor, Dr. McDaniel provides a wide variety of vision services, including prescribing glasses and contact lenses, vision therapy, diabetic eye exams, diagnosing and managing eye diseases, and more. When Dr. McDaniel is not seeing patients, he enjoys outdoor activities (cycling, hiking, etc.), traveling, and spending time with his wife and three children.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Since childhood, I always wanted to pursue a medical profession, and desired a setting where I could still prioritize raising a family. A family history of poor eyesight led me to pursue the eyes and vision as a particular field of study. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving them the knowledge and tools necessary to maximize vision and eye health so that they can succeed in daily life. In my spare time, I enjoy: Reading and spending time with my wife and kids and serving at my church.

I looked up and respected him and thought this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. To be able to help people see clearer and function better in this world is very fulfilling. In my spare time, I enjoy Crossfit, golf, and being with my wife! My favorite part of helping my patients is to be able to function better in their day to day activities.

Accreditations: Therapeutic Optometrists experienced in the direct care of visual assessment, contact lens fitting, eye trauma, eye disease, and surgical procedures such as cataracts and LASIK. Member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Served on the board of the Prevent Blindness Organization in Tyler, Texas.
