Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Specializing in Children’s Vision and Contact Lenses. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was in my 3rd year at BYU majoring in Microbiology and my sister married an Optometrist. After seeing how he was able to immediately impact people’s vision and change their lives, I decided that Optometry was the profession for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: 80% of perception comes from vision. Being able to play a part in helping individuals improve their vision and knowing that will help improve their lives makes me extremely satisfied. On the short side, there is nothing like holding up a new prescription in front of a patient during an eye exam and having them get totally excited about the improvement in their vision. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling and Gardening but particularly Grandchildren and Skiing.

He opened his own practice four months later in October 1982 and has taken care of the eye care needs of Northeast Tarrant County for 35+ years. Dr. Latham is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. He is involved in his church, Countryside Bible Church, and in his free time he spoils his grandchildren and enjoys studying history and aviation.
