Dr. Watson studied Chemistry at the University of Kentucky for 3 years before gaining early acceptance into optometry school in Memphis, TN. While in school she trained at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers based in Louisville, KY and the Eye Care Center - a group of private practices based in Richmond, KY. She graduated with her doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in spring of 2017. Undergraduate Education: I graduated from Albright College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology. Optometry School: I received my Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2017. Professional Achievements and Associations: I am currently a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. I am also a member Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I have a special interest in detecting and treating dry eye disease. Dry eye disease is a multifactorial disease that is caused by many different things. Today we have lots of new technology which aids in the treatment and management of dry eye disease. I strive to make all my dry eye patients as comfortable and happy as I can. The reason I became an optometrist is: My father and grandfather were both successful optometrists. From the time I was in middle school I worked in my father’s office, and I continued working there until I left for Albright College. It was during these formative years that I developed a passion for optometry and vision care. My favorite part of helping my patients is: As an optometrist I enjoy helping patients in any way that I can, whether that be treating eye diseases, providing eyeglasses or contact lenses, educating patients on their ocular condition, helping patients with their visual needs both at home and at work, or just answering questions that patients may have about their eyes. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dogs Hamilton and Winry, playing golf with my father, reading, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with my husband.

Fellow, American Academy of Optometry. Certificate in Pediatric Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, 1977. Dr. Caren Weisz has practiced optometry for 45 years, and served the Joliet community for over 35 years. She cares for all ages, with specialized care for children, learning problems, and computer eyestrain. State-of-the-art contact lenses are on hand for the most comfortable and best vision attainable. Glasses of the highest quality are available as needed for the aging population, as are instruments to diagnose and monitor for ocular disease. Dr. Weisz especially enjoys seeing patients bringing their children in, recalling their positive experiences doing the same when they were young. She especially enjoys the gratitude of so many, many patients coming to her for years, expressing joy in the many years of care that allowed them to see so well. Dr. Weisz continues to accept new patients, and help those in need of good, healthy, comfortable vision. Dr. Weisz’s hobbies primarily relate to family and health. She has 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Keeping everyone healthy and happy and working to their potential is her primary concern!
