The reason I became an optometrist is: I was originally a pre-vet major, but when my dog passed away, I decided to pursue a healthcare field that was more upbeat and where I could help people in a clean and happy environment. I was sitting in my advisor's office in college trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and my contact lens fell out. She said, "Have you ever considered optometry?" So, I researched it, worked in an OD office one summer during school, and knew that it was the right career for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Knowing that I play an important role in their everyday life by providing them with vision solutions to help them at work, at home and at play. In my spare time, I enjoy: Watching my kids' activities (softball and marching band); Ocean City, MD; Gardening; Photography; Walking/Hiking; Geocaching.

About Dr. Monica Reeves

Dr. Monica Reeves, OD attended East Carolina University as a student athlete and double majored in Exercise Physiology and Chemistry. Following undergraduate school she attended Salus University and graduated in 2006. She is an active member of the North Carolina Optometric Society. Skilled in a wide range of primary care optometry, her specialties include fitting specialty contact lenses, ocular disease management, sports vision, pediatric to geriatric general care, pre- and post- operative LASIK and cataract care and a certification in Myopia management. Dr. Reeves has provided over 15 years of exceptional optometric service to a wonderfully diverse patient base in the RDU area. She enjoys listening to patients, and helping to provide education and recommendations about their ocular health and vision needs. When she is not in the office she enjoy’s spending time with her husband and four children. She is passionate about foster/adoption and supporting families in the foster/adoption process. She is actively involved in her church through women and children’s ministries. On a special note, her favorite shoes are Air Jordan’s- the funkier the colors, the better!

About Dr. Joanna Reiman

Dr. Joanna Reiman was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Genetics. She attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) and graduated with clinical honors in 2015 with a Doctorate in Optometry. After graduating, she returned to Raleigh to serve her home community. Upon returning to North Carolina, she became an active member of the Eastern District Optometric Society (EDOS), the North Carolina Optometric Society (NCOS), and the American Optometric Association (AOA). Dr Reiman currently serves as the President-Elect of the NCOS and the Federal Advocacy Representative for North Carolina with the AOA. Dr. Reiman was awarded the 2019 Young OD of the Year and the 2022 Optometrist of the Year by the NCOS. Dr Reiman lives in Raleigh with her husband, two children, and their rescue dog.
