Undergraduate Education: Texas Tech University. Optometry School: UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Prioritizing patients' needs and their visual health is my way of helping them live their best lives. Comprehensive exams, diabetic exams, and medical vision care are some ways that I ensure that my patients get the best eye care possible. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, running, and eating new cuisines.

Undergraduate Education: York University, Toronto, Canada - Kinesiology Major. Optometry School: New England College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children that suit their individual needs. Routine wellness exams, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fitting, binocular visual dysfunctions, and ocular disease management, to list a few. As she looks to further improve the quality of care she provides, Dr. Oleksiv is currently pursuing her functional medicine certification with the Institute of Functional Medicine. Hobbies/Interests: Skiing, hiking, dancing, trying out new recipes.

Undergraduate Education: University of South Alabama; BS in Mathematics. Optometry School: University of Alabama at Birmingham; 1990. Professional Achievements and Associations: Colorado Optometric Association; American Optometric Association; Key person for the Colorado Optometric Association 1999. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Certified to fit Corneal Refractive Lenses. I diagnose and treat glaucoma and we have the special equipment to follow retinal diseases that do not currently require treatment. The reason I became an optometrist is: I like to help people. I like the specialized equipment. As optometrists we make patients’ lives better every day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Seeing patients every year. I know what’s happening with their eyes, but also in their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: My husband, Australian shepherd and I like to hike and ski.

Dr. Michael Onyon has practiced optometry for 33 years. He has served as a board member of the New Hampshire Optometric Association as well as the New Hampshire state liaison for the American Optometric Society. Dr. Onyon stays current with the latest advances in optometry and the optical industry, regularly attending conferences throughout the country. He is a certified orthokeratology practitioner with WAVE and Paragon. Other special interests include treatment of dry eye conditions.

Master’s in Bioengineering from Drexel University. Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. I have a passion for patient health education. I enjoy providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fitting, and ocular disease management. Some of my hobbies include Skiing, hiking, biking and traveling.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and camping. My favorite part of helping my patients is solving a visual problem they have that has not been successfully treated before.

A feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that my work has positively impacted someone’s life. How are you impacting your local community? By improving vision for the underserved. Professional Achievements and Associations: 2 trips to Nicaragua to provide vision care; 39-year member of the A.O.A.; 7 years as an adjunct professor for P.C.O. teaching 4 th years students in my office. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I value my Otho Keratology and scleral lens practice. The reason I became an optometrist is: I am the third generation of Optometrists in my family and have always admired those that precede me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Listening carefully then just doing my best for them. In my spare time, I enjoy: Building fine furniture. Home repairs-first mine, now my son's. I converted a 1975 Porsche 914 to electric 12 years ago and am constantly improving its performance as technology advances.

What drives your passion for optometry? Proper care and through exams save lives. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Enabling patients to live healthier and see clearer. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Listening to patients needs and concerns and addressing those. Patients, many places often feel as though they are being treated as just numbers moving quickly through a standard process, but not here under our care. How are you impacting your local community? Mentoring men to keep families together and being fathers. Hobbies/Interests: Hydroponics and gardening.

The unique opportunity to help patients in the county I love and grew up in is even more special. So blessed and happy to practice here. My favorite part of helping my patients is the smile on a patient’s face when you can make a difference for them visually and the appreciation they have knowing we can be a team together impacting their overall health. In my spare time, I enjoy anything to be near my family; church, being a part of my community, as well as boating, golf, running and ECU athletics.

Jon Park, Optometrist specializes in contact lenses, vision correction, and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. Dr. Park, a Carrollton native, received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas-Austin in 1997. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002 from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Park performed his internship, with an emphasis in primary care, at Quantico Naval Medical Clinic in Quantico, Virginia and at Sharp Eye Consultants in San Antonio, with a special emphasis in ocular disease. Dr. Park is a member of the Dallas County Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association and a member of the Irving Chamber of Commerce. In his free time, Dr. Park enjoys golf, working out and watching football. He and his wife Hannah and three children live in Flower Mound.

What drives your passion for optometry? Serving my patients. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Preserving their health and their vision. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring patients trust the care they have received and are comfortable returning to us in the coming years. How are you impacting your local community? I am involved in my local food bank and community outreach. Hobbies/Interests: I am an amateur long distance runner and we have a small farm with cows and horses.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By providing thorough comprehensive eye exams with specific focus on management of dry eye, diabetes, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. Hobbies/Interests: Spending time with my family and dogs, cooking, BoxStrong classes.
