About Dr. Brian Mays

Dr. Brian Mays received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University. After serving specialized clinics in Low Vision and Primary Health Care in Indianapolis, Dr. Mays completed his residency in Ocular Disease at Omni Eye Services in Atlanta. While at Omni, Dr. Mays served as chief resident over 25 interns from optometry colleges across the nation. He is certified in therapeutic treatment of ocular infections and disease, including glaucoma. He has served on several research panels investigating new visual field testing and contact lens materials. His research on a rare form of cataract and its detection was featured at SECO. He is the recipient of Ciba Vision's Innovation in Contact Lens and Patient Care Award. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

From ophthalmology co-management to primary care, he provides thorough eye exams and vision solutions, offering a full range of eye care services, from eye pain and diabetic exams to eyeglasses and contact lenses. Dr. McClelland trained at the Southern College of Optometry, where he specialized in contact lens fitting. He uses the latest technology, but also considers every patientā€™s history and visual requirements. Raised in Pennsylvania, Dr. McClelland is a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. He is grateful to be raising his children in Fort Collins. The reason I became an optometrist is: Since childhood, I always wanted to pursue a medical profession, and desired a setting where I could still prioritize raising a family. A family history of poor eyesight led me to pursue the eyes and vision as a particular field of study. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving them the knowledge and tools necessary to maximize vision and eye health so that they can succeed in daily life. I looked up and respected him and thought this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. To be able to help people see clearer and function better in this world is very fulfilling. In my spare time, I enjoy Crossfit, golf, and being with my wife! My favorite part of helping my patients is to be able to function better in their day to day activities.

About Dr. Howard McFarland

A native of Greensboro, Dr. Howard McFarland graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity, and graduated with the Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983. His clinical externships were at the Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Riverdale Eye Clinic, Riverdale, Georgia; and the VA Medical Center, Lake City, Florida. Dr. McFarland returned to Greensboro to begin the practice of Optometry in the fall of 1983, specializing in family eye care and contact lenses. He is a 30-year member of the American Optometric Association as well as a member of the North Carolina Optometric Society. He is also a member of the Triad Optometric Association where he is a past president.
