Undergraduate Education: St. Vincent College. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you helping your patients live their best lives? I’d like all my patients to leave the office with a pleasant experience and any eye problems solved! Hobbies/Interests: Any type of exercising and spending time with family.

Dr. Fazzary is from Watkins Glen, a small town in Upstate NY. She has made Charleston her home since 2016. She loves the low country for the beautiful beaches and variety of delicious food/restaurants. Dr. Fazzary attended Cornell University for undergraduate education, and graduated in three years. She graduated from the SUNY State College of Optometry in 2009, and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society for excellence in optometric education. Dr. Fazzary is also a past president of the local Coastal Carolina Optometric Society. Hobbies include having fun with her two dogs and going to live music events.

Dr. Feifke earned his first Optometry degree from the Witwatersrand Technicon in Johannesburg, South Africa. After teaching and practicing in South Africa for seven years, he emigrated to the US where he completed the Doctor of Optometry Program at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. Feifke believes in giving back and has been actively involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity), both as a fundraiser and active participant in numerous missions to Nicaragua, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Feifke is past president of the New England chapter of VOSH. Dr. Feifke is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, as well as a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. In his spare time, Dr. Feifke is passionate about keeping fit and has run seven Boston Marathons. Due to a running injury, he has taken to bike riding and takes part in many biking events in New England and afar. His hobbies include gardening, playing chess with his sons and making that perfect espresso!

Undergraduate Education: Mercy College. Optometry School: University of Houston. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I have been practicing Optometry for over 30 years. I believe my experience as a Board-Certified Therapeutic Optometrist has enabled me to continue to provide not only comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, contact lens fittings, and evaluations of binocular visual dysfunctions, but also, thorough diabetic eye evaluations and the treatment and management of various ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. I am also astute in providing therapeutic care for more acute conditions such as conjunctivitis and ocular trauma, such as removing a foreign object, such as metal flakes, out of the eye. Because of my genuine concern for my patient’s well being, I treat them as if they were my friend or family member. This allows the patient to feel comfortable with me and therefore confident in my ability to provide exceptional care. Hobbies/Interests: Learning the guitar, motorcycle riding, well, trike riding, playing with my dogs and hanging out with my family.

Dr. Stefanie Fernandez was born and raised in Westerly, RI before moving to North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Elon University. After living in Durham, NC and working as a DNA lab technologist, Dr. Fernandez decided she wanted to help people in a more personal way. She then moved to South Florida to pursue her Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University and graduated as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. In her spare time, Dr. Fernandez enjoys exploring new places with her husband and spoiling their pet tortoise, Reggie.

Undergraduate Education: UNC-Charlotte. I enjoy providing personalized care to my patients and improving their lives by educating them on their ocular health as well as prescribing the best eyewear, contact lenses, or eye drops. My hobbies are spending time with my friend and family, running, and watching TV.

Dr. Anthony Paul Ficarra is an optometrist. He is a graduate from State University of New York College of Optometry. He completed his Fellowship and then served as a faculty member. Among the most cherished award he has gotten is the Florida’s Senator’s Proclamation by Senators Silver and Webster: Recognizing the outstanding contribution of Dr. Ficarra and Faculty at NOVA Southeaster College of Optometry in improving the lives of children in Florida for service provided to 10,000 at risk children and in-need children (that is a significant impact in the classroom, in the sports teams, improved FCAT scores, and decreased juvenile behavior problems). He has lectured and done blogs on Diabetes Eyecare. He enjoys playing soccer, traveling and volunteering. He has volunteered in Mexico, Honduras and in RAM clinics in Virginia. His motto is: Let us provide you with the best eyecare, at the right time, and at the right place.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I attended Indiana University thinking I wanted to become an accountant as I have two older brothers that are accountants, but I quickly realized I loved my science classes even more (biology and psychology). While playing flag football with my two older brothers, I met one of their college friends who was an optometrist. He invited me to come in for an eye exam (I had never had one and I was 20 years old) and I found out I needed glasses and had no idea. I loved that he was able to help me see better, and I decided that I wanted to do that for a living. The rest is history. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Helping them be able to enjoy life to its fullest by helping them see better and helping them find solutions if they suffer from eye disease. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my patients smile when I show them what their vision will be like with their new glasses or contacts. In my spare time, I enjoy: Running; Golfing; Bowling; Walking my dog Cooper (yellow lab); Hanging with my family; I coached little league baseball for several years in Fishers through the S.P.O.R.T.S. Organization; I served as a Boy Scout leader for several years.

Dr. Filchak was raised in Woodbury and attended Nonnewaug High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut in 1980, and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in 1985 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Filchak is certified as an advanced optometric practitioner. He provides the full spectrum of optometric services from general optometry, contact lenses, LASIK pre & post-op care, and the treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Filchak resides in Woodbury with his wife, Mary.

The reason I became an optometrist is: The positive impact that optometry had on my own life has driven me to help others and provide a similarly positive experience for my patients. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Finding solutions to fit their individual visual needs and help them to live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, trying new foods, and watching sports.

Dr. Fitzgerald graduated from the University of Mary, in Bismark, North Dakota, with a bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, graduating with an additional B.S. in Vision Sciences and his Doctorate of Optometry. After graduating, Dr. Fitzgerald completed one year Primary Care Residency Program at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also certified to use topical and oral pharmaceutical agents. His specialties and interests include ocular disease, contact lenses and vision therapy. Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association and Vermont Optometric Association. Dr. Fitzgerald was also awarded Clinical Honors while attending Salus University and received an award for Clinical Excellence during his advanced pediatric clinical rotation.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I love sciences and math and the natural fit that has with the profession of optometry. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Being able to provide patients comfortable and natural vision with contact lenses. In my spare time, I enjoy: Gardening, cooking, and reading.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Treatment of dry eye disease. The reason I became an optometrist is: I wanted to be able to have an immediate impact on my patients’ lives. Optometry allows this through vision and ocular health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Observing the smile on each patient’s face when they see how well their vision will be with their new glasses. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling. Hiking in national parks.

Dr. Flores is a Kansas Native with a bachelors in Public Health Nutrition from Kansas State University and her Doctorate of Optometry from University of the Incarnate word in San Antonio. Her ability to be bilingual in Spanish and English helps her better serve her patients and she hopes to continue serving the Latino communities. Her focus has been to pursue her interests in ocular disease including dry eye, research, innovative technology and education to ensure that patients in her community have access to it. She also uses social media to reach her community even further. She uses the platform to educate, engage and minimize the gap between eye care and the beauty industry with a Latina flare added to it of course. In her free time Dr. Flores enjoys traveling, reading her Bible, doing yoga, playing piano, spending time with her family, and eating all the delicious food the world has to offer.

Dr. Brenda Floyd is a licensed optometrist practicing at MyEyeDr. in Lewisville, Texas. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Alabama of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Floyd's educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As part of her training, she completed an internship at the UAB Diabetes Hospital. In her college years, Dr. Floyd served as the president of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. Dr. Floyd has received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who, a renowned publisher of biographical profiles. Her extensive experience, leadership qualities, and notable accomplishments have earned her a prominent position within her professional network. She also received the Marquis Award for Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. Before establishing her practice in the Dallas area, Dr. Floyd gained valuable clinical experience at the Center for Developmental and Learning Disorders at UAB Health System. Additionally, she served as a clinician at the Diabetes Hospital of UAB Health System. During her career, Dr. Floyd also contributed as a columnist in eye care for the Lewisville Daily Leader. In 1993, Dr. Floyd founded Sharp Eyes Optometry in Lewisville, Texas, and later became partners with Dr. Rosenberg in 2005. Their private practice serves the Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Carrollton areas, offering a comprehensive range of services and eyewear products. These include eye exams, testing for all ages, prescription and non-prescription glasses, sunglasses, as well as a wide selection of eyewear frames and contact lenses. Dr. Floyd's dedication to her community is evident in her commitment to helping her patients live their best lives. She takes pride in providing excellent care and strives to ensure her patients' satisfaction. Her passion for optometry allows her to tackle even the most challenging vision issues and provide effective solutions. Actively involved in professional organizations, Dr. Floyd is a longstanding member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), where she received an Education Award for her exceptional work. She has also been associated with the Optometric Foundation and the Texas Optometric Association. Outside of her practice, Dr. Floyd enjoys various hobbies and interests. She finds joy in gardening, music, piano composition, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
