About Dr. Chelsea Dayton

Undergraduate Education: West Virginia University, Bachelor of Science in Biology. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry, 2015. Professional Achievements and Associations: Maryland and West Virginia licensed, Member of Maryland and West Virginia Optometric Association. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was heavily influenced by my high school math teacher to pursue higher education. My childhood optometrist, Dr. Shawn Ricker of Cumberland, MD, who is now my Uncle, also weighed in on my career path. There was nothing sweeter than a fresh pair of clear contact lenses for a high myope like me. I am so glad I can now offer the gift of clear, crisp vision to others! My favorite part of helping my patients is: educating them on their visual needs. Whether I see a patient after cataract surgery for new glasses, refer someone out for glaucoma or successfully treat their chronic dry eye, I enjoy addressing all patient needs. If I can't help, I will find someone who can! In my spare time, I enjoy: exercising and spending time with my growing family.
