Vision Health Screenings

Why should you offer a vision screening to your employees?
The health of your eyes is very important. Even a slight mis-correction in a person's vision can lead to lower productivity, accuracy and comfort. But healthy sight is not just about how well a person sees now, it's also about preserving eye health for the future. While a vision health screening does not take the place of a n annual eye exam, it can help detect a change in visual disturbances, depth perception and color vision. Another reason? Any successful wellness program will help lower health-related costs for your organization.

A Vision Screening by My Eye Dr. is designed to raise awareness among your employees about the importance of proper vision care. The screenings are also part of a preventative care strategy. We have detected several cases of early stage glaucoma and many instances of problem vision at these events.

Employees are encouraged to bring their existing glasses to the screening to ensure that their current prescription is still accurate. Please note that the vision and glaucoma screening will not take the place of an annual eye exam with a doctor. Your employees will be encouraged to visit an eye care professional.

My Eye Dr. conducts these screenings with an Optometric Technician present. The tests provided to your employees include visual acuities (near and distance), color vision, depth perception, binocular testing (to ensure that both eyes are working together) and a glaucoma screening, followed by a brief consultation.

My Eye Dr. representative is available to answer any questions your employees may have about their vision plan. In addition, the representative can schedule appointments for the employees at the time of the screening. Information on eye care, various eye conditions and the LASIK procedure are distributed as well.
